The difference between the right design and almost the right design is the difference between lightening and a lightening bug.
—morphed from Mark Twain
I strive to be a holistic designer, like a holistic doctor.
I plan for an organic system
where the content, technology and design are inseparably united. In more academic terms,
I follow a "needs-based approach" — design for the user rather than the design company.
I work on
good ideas that I feel can succeed. I can always
make it look pretty, but only when the idea is solid, can I help make it
good.
My process is to see clearly through my eyes and of others around me to find the right design. This
means that I listen to partners and users, avoiding emotional attachment to any
one solution.
Dialog always results in a better design, because collaborative intelligence
is smarter than solitary confinement.
